Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award
The young entrepreneur from León, Fernando Santos, won the “Young Entrepreneur Award” in its sixth edition for the work he has undertaken at the helm of Producciones Editoriales MIC, created in 1994.
The 3rd “Young Business Initiative Award” for young people under the age of 36 was received by Adolfo Penelas for his project entitled “Solar energy in expansion”.
The Federation of Associations of Young Entrepreneurs of Castilla y León (AJE) was responsible for presenting both awards yesterday, during a ceremony attended by representatives from various business organisations and numerous regional and local authorities.
During her speech, the Family Minister highlighted the importance of the event and emphasised the need to grant future opportunities to young entrepreneurs in Castilla y León.
Valdeón also indicated the importance of the optional subject in the fourth year of Compulsory Secondary Education designed to guide pupils in Castilla y León towards the future as entrepreneurs within the business sectors in the region.
Overview of the award winner
Fernando Santos Vicente was born in 1969 in León, where he set up the company Producciones Editoriales MIC, the main activity of which is the design and production of different editorial products.
Santos Vicente is the main person responsible for the publication of various editorial products for over 500 public institutions in Spain and major national companies.
Producciones Editoriales MIC was founded in 1994 at the initiative of Santos Vicente, and with a determined commitment to broaden its market, he has begun its expansion in America.

The Regional Government of Castilla y León, at its 2007 Internet Awards ceremony, has presented Editorial MIC with one of its awards in the Business category. The purpose of the Castilla y León Internet Awards is to acknowledge the excellence of the efforts of people and businesses who through their work have made an outstanding contribution to the development of the Internet in our region.

EDITORIAL MIC LAUNCHES AT THE BOOK ENTITLED “MAGISTRAL CIUDAD DE LEÓN, 20 YEARS OF A TOURNAMENT”

The new offices of the sports newspaper Marca hosted the launch of the twenty-first edition of the Magistral “Ciudad de León” tournament and of the commemorative book entitled “Magistral Ciudad de León, 20 years of a tournament” published by Editorial MIC. The Magistral book has a print run of 3,000 copies, 1,000 of which are in hardback and intended for institutions, sponsors and bodies which have collaborated over the 20 years that this prestigious tournament has been in existence. It is illustrated with photographs in colour and black and white and takes the reader through each of the twenty tournaments, which are accompanied by a selection of the best matches with comments from the world champions who have played in León. The book is now on sale in bookshops and department stores at a price of 25 euros. The event was attended by executives of the newspaper, the councillor for sport at the City Council of León, Natalia Picayo, the director general of sport at the Regional Government of Castilla y León, Miguel Ignacio González, the Sports MP, José María López Benito, the president of the Spanish Chess Federation, Javier Ochoa, GM Paco Vallejo, the director of Editorial MIC and editor of the book, Fernando Santos, the writer, Julio Llamazares, who wrote the introduction to the work, the director of the Magistral, Marcelino Sión and the journalist from El País and one of the authors, Leontxo García.

EDITORIAL MIC PUBLISHES 400,000 GUIDES FOR ALL THE TOLLGATES IN SPAIN |

Agreement
Editorial MIC recently reached an agreement to publish 400,000 road guides with the Spanish Association of Motorway, Tunnel, Bridge and Toll Road Concessionaires (ASETA). The Guides will be distributed to the users of ASETA’s services at all tollgates in Spain over Easter. The agreement was signed on Monday 22 January in Madrid, by the Commercial Director of Editorial MIC, Francisco Robles, and the Marketing Director of ASETA, Héctor Cerrada. The guides will be up to date as at February 2007.
